Day 1

I had strenghth training this morning. I’m taking a weight training class at my local Gold’s Gym called Bodypump. The class is a great full body workout with a huge emphasis on lower body and core.
I’m on the hunt for some good strength training exercises geared toward triathletes. I’ll get back to you on what I find.

The Journey Officially Begins

I just signed up for my first triathlon to take place about an hour from me in Carrollton, GA. I found the race via http://www.trifind.com/ga.html.
The distances are a
1/4 Mile Swim
12 Mile Bike Ride
3.4 Mile Run.
This shouldn’t be too difficult seeing as I’ve done open water 5k swims and can run a good 4 miles without being too exhausted. I’m mostly worried about doing them all right after one another and the HEAT. This has been a hot Georgia summer so far, so I need to start working on dealing with that.
I’m really excited about finally taking the leap and signing up. No more just talking about doing a race.
